Blog: GCSE Results, Your Questions Answered
GCSE results day is here and we’ve compiled a list of our FAQs from last year in the hope that it will help you.
When is GCSE results day?
Let’s start with the basics. This year, GCSE results day falls on Thursday 23rd August.
When can I drop-in for advice on what to do next?
In case you’re unsure about what to do next, we’ll be running a drop-in session on GCSE results day from 9.00am until 5.00pm. There’s no need to book, just turn up and we’ll chat through your options.
What happens if I just miss the requirements of the course I want to do?
The best thing you can do is get in touch as soon as possible. Whether you would prefer to talk to us in-person or on the phone, we’ll be on hand from 9.00am until 5.00pm on GCSE results day.
We’ll asses your situation and determine whether enrolling on the same course at another level would be better for you.
I’ve just got my GCSEs, what are my options?
As a school leaver you can choose to study a technical course, A-Levels or get an apprenticeship. We recommend doing your research into each before making a decision.

Is it too late to apply in August?
Nope. We accept applications well into October, so you still have time to change your mind.
Will I have to re-sit my GCSE English/maths at College?
Maths and English skills help you in everyday life and if you want to go onto uni or into work after your course, most places have them as a requirement. So if you have not achieved GCSE A*-C/9-4 you will undertake these qualifications alongside your main programme.
What financial support is available to me?
To take the financial pressures off you while studying at College, we have a number of financial support schemes in place to help you.

When will I receive my lanyard?
We were surprised that this was such a big concern for so many of you, but here we are. You will receive your lanyard during enrolment – so make sure you’ve brushed you hair.
When is enrolment?
Enrolment runs from Thursday 23rd August until Friday 31st August. Don’t worry, we will contact you to tell you when your enrolment time slot is.
I’m on holiday during enrolment, what should I do?
It is really important that you attend your allotted enrolment date and time. However, we appreciate that sometimes other things just get in the way. If you are unable to attend your time slot, please call our Student Services team on 01709 513355 so we can make alternative arrangements for you.
