This Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker apprenticeship prepares individuals for leadership roles within the care sector.
Apprentices will develop advanced skills in person-centred care planning, communication, safeguarding, and health and wellbeing promotion.
The programme focuses on equipping individuals to supervise and mentor other care workers, fostering a positive team environment and driving continuous improvement in care delivery.
Apprentices will learn to manage complex situations, work collaboratively with other professionals and organisations, and champion dignity and respect in all aspects of their work.
Upon completion, graduates will be qualified to provide high-quality, compassionate care while leading and inspiring others to do the same, making a significant positive impact on the lives of those they support.
Apprentices will study and learn the knowledge, skills and behaviours which will prepare for the End Point Assessment:
- Provide Leadership in Care: Supervise, mentor, and guide other care workers, fostering a positive and effective team environment. This includes delegating tasks, providing feedback and contributing to staff development.
- Deliver Advanced Person-Centred Care: Develop, implement, and review complex care plans based on individual needs and preferences, adapting to changing circumstances. This includes specialised assessments for individuals with cognitive, sensory and physical impairments.
- Champion Dignity and Respect: Promote a culture of dignity, respect, and inclusion, ensuring that individuals’ rights are upheld and diversity is valued.
- Master Communication: Utilise advanced communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, advocates and other professionals. This includes navigating communication barriers and facilitating effective communication within the team.
- Safeguard Individuals: Lead and train others in safeguarding practices, recognising and responding to abuse and working with external agencies. This includes addressing complex safeguarding dilemmas.
- Promote Health and Wellbeing: Champion health and wellbeing for both individuals receiving care and colleagues, implementing strategies for infection control, risk management and healthy living.
- Work Professionally and Ethically: Maintain professional boundaries, adhere to codes of practice, and promote ethical decision-making within the team.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Engage in reflective practice, seek feedback, and pursue continuous professional development, including research and knowledge sharing. This also includes contributing to recruitment and induction processes.
- Manage Complex Situations: Take initiative in challenging situations, exercise sound judgment, and access specialist knowledge when needed.
- Collaborate Effectively: Build and maintain strong partnerships with other professionals, organisations and families to ensure coordinated and effective care.
Mandatory qualifications will be completing throughout the course:
- Functional Skills Maths and English Level 2 (if applicable)
- Level 3 Diploma in Care
- Care Certificate
- When you study with us you will be taught by staff with a wealth of experience from the sector. They will support your professional development.
- The course is delivered via blended learning, online, and face to face within groups and on a one-to-one basis.
- Attending College will give you the opportunity to share best practice and your experiences with your peers.
- You will be given access to all College facilities, including our enrichment programme, and will be issued with a Student card.
- You will work with employers to gain hands-on experience in the Adult Care sector and earn a salary while you learn.
- You will learn new Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours and be able to transfer these skills into your working practice.
- Access to a highly qualified Functional Skills team that will provide any support you need with your English and Maths
GCSE grade A-C/4-9 or Level 2 Maths and English equivalent.
