This qualification has been designed to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding to pursue a career in canine care. Learners will understand the basics of canine anatomy, physiology and behaviour and will be able to provide care, including physical enrichment for canines in their care. This course is suitable for: Anyone who has an interest in dogs and wants to learn more about their care and training. Individuals who are already working with canines for example in Kennels or Veterinary Practices. Individuals who would like to either work with dogs or set up their own canine related business for example pet sitting or dog walking.
You will study a combination of the following units depending on your chosen pathway: Caring for a Dog Dog Anatomy, Physiology and Behaviour Canine First Aid Dog Sports Dog Training Methods Employment Preparation Enrichment for Dogs

We have an exciting programme of enrichment and guest speakers and our intention is to undertake education visits.

On successful completion of the Level 1 Award in Dog Training and Husbandry, learners may progress onto a Level 2 Animal Care or Dog Grooming qualification.
