Cosmetic Make-up and Beauty Consultancy (Adult P/T)

The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Cosmetic Make-up and Beauty Consultancy is a substantial vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as a beauty consultant.This qualification is designed for learners to gain employment as a beauty consultant. The units contained in this qualification cover all the skills and knowledge required for this role. The mandatory units included are; applying make-up and instruction of make-up, client care, and health and safety.

You will also have the opportunity to further develop your understanding and skills by completing an optional specialist unit providing eyelash and eyebrow treatments. The structure of this qualification will enable you to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required for the job role of beauty consultant.

Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of the skin, health and safety, client care and cosmetic products. You will also develop a range of technical skills enabling you to prepare the skin and apply a variety of make-up products using different techniques.

You will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.

You will study a range of topics including:

• Instruction of Makeup Application
• Client Care and Communication
• Health and Safety
• Eyelash and Eyebrow treatments

The Hair and Media Makeup department is an outstanding department who in 2016 won a beacon award for the outstanding teaching and learning.They have been most successful in a wide range of competitions and received a Gold and Silver finalist at UK skills.

The opportunity to attend masterclasses and workshops will also be available in subjects such as: face, body and nail art, hair skills and assisting Level 3 Media Make-Up students on location in theatres, fashion shows and more industry experience
