The T Level Foundation Year is a 16-18 study programme specifically designed to develop the skills, experience, knowledge and behaviours to support progression onto a T Level.

It is a one-year programme aimed at young people who are not quite ready to start a T Level but have the potential to progress onto one.

There are 5 elements to the T Level foundation programme:

  • Diagnostic and Guidance Section

    This is to help us assess the capability and support needs to tailor the individual support for the Foundation Year and help you progress onto the T Level programme.

  • English and Maths

    If you have not achieved a GCSE English and Maths at a grade 4 you will have general and tailored sessions to help you achieve the required level.

  • Work Preparation and Employability Skills

    To support you in developing the skills, behaviours, attitude, and confidence that will be needed for students to complete the T Level Industry Placement.

  • Introductory Technical Skills

    These are the core skills and concepts that you will need in order to prepare for the next level

  • Pastoral Support and Personal Development

    This supports you to become a well-rounded individual as well as support the development of study skills, reflective and resilience skills.

    • Prepare for future study on our main T level in Computing with this foundation course to help you develop the skills such as Programming, Maths, English and Employability.
    • Learn from experienced staff with a range of specialist skills.
    • Use industry standard software and equipment to learn and develop your computing skills.
    • Learn through practical coding and developing solutions.
    • Use a range of hardware and electronic equipment to bring your programming skills to life.
    • Take part in challenges and code clubs to enhance your skills and prepare yourself for future studies.
    • Brand new facilities with top of the range equipment.
    • A chance to enter world skills events and test your programming skills against others.
