The T Level Foundation Year is a 16-18 study programme specifically designed to develop the skills, experience, knowledge and behaviours to support progression onto a T Level.
It is a one-year programme aimed at young people who are not quite ready to start a T Level but have the potential to progress onto one.
There are 5 elements to the T Level foundation programme:
1. Diagnostic and guidance section This is to help us assess the capability and support needs to tailor the individual support for the Foundation Year and help you progress onto the T Level programme.
2. English and mathsIf you have not achieved a GCSE English and Maths at a grade 4 you will have general and tailored sessions to help you achieve the required level.
3. Work preparation and employability skillsTo support you in developing the skills, behaviours, attitude, and confidence that will be needed for students to complete the T Level Industry Placement.
4. Introductory technical skillsThese are the core skills and concepts that you will need in order to prepare for the next level.
5. Pastoral support and personal developmentThis is support you to become a well-rounded individual as well as support the development of study skills, reflective and resilience skills.
On this course, you will:
- Learn from industry-experienced and well-qualified tutors who have spent many years in the Health and Social Industry, and have specialist qualifications and knowledge to bring to their teaching.
- Access the state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.
- Take part in cross-campus events and charity fundraisers.
- Hear from a range of guest speakers from the Health and Social Care industry
- Acquire new skills and enrichment specific to Health and Social Care such as First Aid at Work, Manual Handling and Health and Safety at Work.
