This course is designed for students with particular interests in learning about Adult Health and Social Care and Nursing
It is designed to provide you with a wide range of specialist knowledge and practical skills to seek employment opportunities in the Healthcare sector You will gain knowledge and skills to provide care services to a range of individuals Your programme will consist of classroom based theoretical learning and applying practical skills in the Health and Medical Clinic at Dearne Valley College
Students will develop knowledge skills and behaviours studying the following: Personal Development Skills Team Leading Skills Team Work Communication Skills Awareness of Protection and Safeguarding Awareness of the importance of Healthy Eating and Drinking for Adults Awareness of Person Centred support in Health, Social Care and Children’s & Young People’s settings
You will have the opportunity to: Organise and carry out fundraising activities for charities Hear from guest speakers from various areas of the sectors provide valuable insights into the different services and organisations available in Rotherham You will be taught by industry specialists such as practicing nurses We also have strong links with the local hospitals, foundation trusts and teaching hospitals
Four GCSEs at Grade 2 or above

On completion of this study programme you will be able to progress onto Level 2 in Health and Social Care
