It’s important to understand that studying is more than just ticking a box or jumping through hoops in order to secure your dream job. Studying at College can be fun, especially when you study what you love and are able to take your new-found skills and knowledge with you in your future career.

There is an age-old saying that “if you do a job you love, you’ll never work a day in your life” but how do you get the experience required to work in your chosen field? We offer you a wide range of options including Childcare, Engineering, Graphic Design and even Esports – the list is endless and we’re sure we have something on offer just for you.

Have an interest in cars or want to learn a trade? At Dearne Valley College, we offer courses in Vehicle Maintenance, Bricklaying, Plastering or Plumbing, giving you the opportunity to have a real “hands-on” experience and get the qualifications you need, for the career you want.

All our courses are taught by tutors with real-world experience in the fields they teach, allowing them to draw on their own personal expertise to give you the best experience possible.

Maybe you prefer to earn as you learn? Then an apprenticeship could be for you. We offer a range of apprenticeships in a range of sectors giving you the opportunity to work alongside experienced staff to gain industry-specific skills and knowledge. Apprenticeships are available to people of any age, whether you have just left school and are looking to start your career, looking to retrain or gain additional qualifications.

We understand that College life is about much more than getting a first-class education. While studying with us, you’ll also have access to some amazing facilities, such as our on-site gym facility, which features an extensive range of cardiovascular and strength-training equipment as well as fitness classes, including Yoga and Pilates to name a few. The College also includes other facilities such as multisport cages, Astroturf pitches and easy access to the nearby Manvers boathouse and lake. As well as the fantastic fitness suite, we have an onsite canteen, a commercial on-site training hair and beauty salon open to the public, a construction centre and much more.
