College awarded Matrix Quality Standard for Student Support
The RNN Group Colleges, which include Rotherham College, North Notts College and Dearne Valley College have been awarded the Matrix Quality Standard for Information Advice and Guidance Services for their work in ensuring a smooth transition for students following the addition of Dearne Valley College to the Group in February 2017.
The Matrix Quality Standard is an international quality standard for organistions that offer high-quality information, advice and guidance.
In a report published by Assessment Services, the RNN Group Colleges were praised for their efforts in maintaining consistency for students as the Student Services department adapted following the merge of the three colleges.
Students consulted in the report felt that the help they receive from Student Services has not been affected or changed by the merge, and that the department continues to provide excellent support in areas such as safeguarding; in particular ensuring that students are travelling home safe when they have stayed late at College and that bursary payments are made on time to prevent any hardship.
Other benefits that students felt from the merge was the introduction of a broader curriculum programme, which gives them the opportunity to study their chosen course in a wider range of specialist facilities designed to reflect working in industry. Students were also pleased with the expanded access they have gained to library materials and work placements.
