Dearne Students Given Power Skills Workshops on Adaptabilty and Team Work!
Steve Timmins delivered an excellent informal workshop on flexibility and adaptability, and Lindsay Jones from the Rotherham Titans delivered one on Team Work as part of our Power Skills / Skills for Employment week at Dearne Valley College.
Steve, who works for Weston Park Cancer Charity as their Business Development Manager, gave our level 3 esports students an insight into the charity and the help it provides to the communities around us such as support for those affected by cancer and travel support for people undergoing treatments.
Students were very engaged in the topics covered such as social media in the workplace, implications of AI on creative industries and the switch from print media to digital.
Lindsay, who is the Chair of Trustees of Titans Community Foundation, gave a powerful talk on team work – very important on the rugby pitch, as in life both professionally and personally.
A huge thanks to Steve and Lindsay and all of our speakers this week.
