Dearne Valley College Showcases at Annual LEAF Event
Dearne Valley College attended the annual LEAF event at Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham this month to provide local schools, college leavers and jobseekers with information, advice and guidance on the courses and apprenticeships available to provide them with the skills for success.
The event, now in its 6th year, attracts a large audience of local students and go-getters seeking advice and information to develop their skillsets and employability.
A wide range of curriculum areas from the college were represented at the event with staff bringing interactive activities to share with prospective students and demonstrate the hands-on learning that they would undertake during their studies at Dearne Valley College.
Examples included Motor Vehicle bringing one of their fleet of six cutting edge hybrid electric vehicles and Health and Social Care setting up curriculum machinery for students to enquire about.
Curriculum Team Leader for Health and Social Care Jonathan Green helped provide visitors with valuable information on the opportunities studying at Dearne Valley College creates.
Jonathan said: “This event is a wonderful chance for Dearne Valley College to show local people how it supports their career, skills and educational attainment ambitions. We offer quality education in easy reach for many of the people here today.
“This is a brilliant opportunity to show the local community just how much we have to offer.”
