Skills for Employment launched at the RNN Group
The RNN Group launched a new initiative ‘Skills for Employment’ this week during the seventh week of the Group’s induction programme for learners.
Skills for Employment is a new initiative for business and learners to benefit. Learners can develop their Power Skills or transferable skills through the programme that business leaders have been asking us to help with.
They will be developing these through taking on one of ten power skills at a time and proving through practical and written examples they have attained this power skill and receive a digital certificate to promote and show future employers.
Local businesses have backed this new iniatiative as a Gold Standard Accredidation for developing the workforce of the future and the power skills that they need including Communication, Creativity, Critical thinking, Decision Making, Leadership, Problem Solving, Proactive / Showing Initiative, Resilience, Self-Management and Time Management.
This week we have had workshops across the Group in these skills as well as the launch and we have had the pleasure of welcoming Tim Coleman in from Action Coach who has been leading workshops on Confidence in the Workplace which ties in all the skills listed above. Our learners have been engaging with these workshops and the practical activities set by Tim to help build confidence.
It has been a fantastic week of learning for our students and reminding them of the importance of developing their power skills alongside their academic qualifications.
