Travel and Tourism students host fashion show for charity fundraiser
Level 4 Travel and Tourism students have raised over £900 in aid of funds for Rotherham Hospice, a charity providing care for the people of Rotherham.
The event had live music and a selection of food, as well as the opportunity to get involved in a raffle competition, with the chance to win prizes including cinema tickets, paintballing vouchers and Sunday lunch at Carlton Park Hotel.
Leah Jadestocks, a Travel and Tourism student that has helped organise the event said, “The event overall has gone really well, there has been a few obstacles in the way such as securing prizes, but we’ve worked well as a team and prepared well ahead of schedule so there wasn’t as much stress on the day!”
The clothes on the catwalk were donated by the Rotherham Hospice and both vintage and more modern looks were put together.
Molly Oxley, another Travel and Tourism student said, “Rotherham Hospice kindly let us use their clothes for the fashion show, and we also got a mascot that came down on the night which was a great addition. When selling the tickets for our event we sold them ourselves – we were on a rota during break and dinner times to gain interest!”
