Welcoming You Back Safely this September
Keeping you safe at College
We are looking forward to welcoming back our students, both returning and new, this September.
We have been working over the summer to ensure that all our campuses are safe for everyone and have put the necessary measures in place to create a safe environment for all.
To manage the flow of staff and students around our campuses, we have put in place a one-way system, including entrances, exits and in corridors. We would ask you to follow this procedure as much as you can and remember to keep a minimum of 1 metre plus apart from other staff and students. In addition to our hand washing facilities in all of our toilets, we have also placed hand sanitiser stations around our campuses – please use before you enter a classroom. Further guidance on this will be given during your welcome week and induction.
Enrolment
Over the coming weeks, we will be sending out more information regarding your enrolment.
This year we will be enrolling students online and we will be in touch to let you know when you are able to do this. Don’t worry – we will be on hand to support you. We will have an option to chat with someone online or you can call us.
Blended Learning
To ensure we are keeping to a safe capacity of people on campus at any one time, all courses will be taught via a ‘blended approach’ from September. This means that your study programme will be delivered by a mix of face to face teaching, practical learning, remote online and virtual classes as well as independent study. Remote teaching and learning may include watching a lesson being streamed ‘live’, online demonstrations, lectures, discussions, group work, or 1:1 tutorials. All of which you will need access to a mobile phone/computer/laptop/tablet with internet access. You will need to advise staff during enrolment if you do not have access to this technology.
College Transport
The College is also in the process of introducing bus transport on specific routes to support those students who live in places that are not as easy to reach us. We will share more information on this towards the end of the month with information on how to access this service.
Summer Projects
A final reminder that you will have received a project to work on during the summer break to help prepare you for starting or re-joining us. Please make sure that you have completed this before we welcome you back this September.
Please stay safe and most importantly, enjoy your summer.
